Honda

The Honda CBR250 series of bikes was produced between 1986 and 1996. It was a lightweight 250 cc (15 cu in) 4-cylinder, 4-stroke, and 6-gear sport bike capable of revving up to 19,000 rpm. The earlier models (1986-1993) produced 45 PS (33 kW). From 1994 on, the power output was reduced to 40 PS (29 kW), after a change in Japanese law

Initially these bikes were only sold new in Japan, and later the CBR250RR was sold new in Australia. But they can be found in almost any country of the world. In countries which have a 250cc learner capacity limit, the CBR250RR is one of the the most powerful 4-stroke bikes a learner is allowed to ride, hence their popularity.

yamaha bikes

Yamaha advertised that the R6 had a redline of 17500 rpm. This is 2000 rpm higher than the previous R6 model and was the highest tachometer redline of any 2006 production four-stroke motorcycle engine.

It was widely reported that the YZF-R6's motor did not actually have this engine rpm redline level and was closer to around 16,200 rpm, but because of a deliberate tachometer error of about 8%, it read 17,500 rpm on the tachometer.

In February 2006, Yamaha admitted the bike's true engine redline was more than 1,000 rpm lower than displayed on the tachometer than advertised, and offered to buy back any R6 if the customer was unhappy.

Japanese Motorcycle

kawasaki

* KLR650-A: The "A" model was introduced in 1987, based on its KLR600 predecessor (1984 to 1986). The "A" model remained nearly unchanged until the introduction of the 2008 model in USA, Canada and Europe

* KLR650-B or Tengai: was sold in the USA starting 1990 and in other countries for several years afterward

* KLR650-C: The "C" model is a more dirt-oriented motorcycle fitted with stiffer 41 mm (1.6 in) front forks, improved brakes, tubular engine guard, smaller 14 l (3.1 imp gal; 3.7 US gal) fuel tank, and steel wheel rims. Lacking a temperature gauge, it has an over-heat lamp.

* KLR650-E: 2008 was the first major redesign of the KLR650. The primary changes include upgraded 41 mm (1.6 in) forks, a new D-section swingarm, dual beam headlight, dual-piston rear brake caliper, upgraded cooling system, 4 mm spokes, cowling and fairing redesign as well as various redesigned parts.

HERO HONDA

Hero Honda Hunk

The hunk has been styled to give it a big bike presence by providing fake air scoops at either sides of the fuel tank. It also features an aggressive visor and muscular rear cowls
The Hunk has the 149 cc engine used in Honda Unicorn and Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme with tumble flow technology which the company claims will reduce emissions and fuel consumption. The bike has a top speed of 108 km/h and is capable of doing 0-60 km/h in 5.5 seconds. It has an overall fuel efficiency of 51 kmpl
Hero Honda Karizma
Karizma has been designed specifically for the Indian market by Honda. The styling is inspired by Honda VFR800. The instrument panel and the tank recesses are also designed keeping their functionality in mind. The horn has come under criticism for not being loud enough
The seating of Karizma is aimed for a sporty stance which can result in discomfort in long distances.Reviews have praised the handling of Karizma as "being easy for novice" ,"impeccable on straights and cornering" and as an "accomplished bike" in ride and handling. However the rear tyre, the handle bar and the foot pegs have been blamed in affecting the handling.Karizma has the tried and tested, but slightly detuned version of 223cc SOHC air-cooled engine from the CRF230 series of enduro /MX/supermoto bikes that are sold in the USA and South American markets. It has a 5-speed gearbox in place of the CRF's 6-speed. The engine is an all aluminum, undersquare engine (bore 65.5 mm and stroke 66.2 mm) running a compression ratio of 9:1. It features a Kehlin CV carburettor with a CCVI switch. The top speed is around 130 km/h and the 0-60 km/h is achieved around 3.8 seconds. The Karizma is reported to have an overall fuel economy of 38 km/l (90 mpg or 2.4 l/100 km), with a best of 50 km/l (120 mpg) and a worst of 28 km/l (66 mpg).

Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme

Hero Honda CBZ, launched in early 1999 by Hero Honda Motors India Ltd, was the first sports oriented 4-stroke bike. Sporting an original Honda 156.8 cc engine, it made good 12.8PS of power which was sufficient enough to propel it to 110[120 on Speedo] km/h. The styling of the bike was a scaled version of the famous Honda CB series. Sufficient mid-range torque ensured a 0–60 km/h (0-37 mph) in just 5 seconds.CBZ was one of the first Indian 4-stroke bikes to feature a 5-speed gearbox
The close-ratio gearbox provided superior acceleration and roll-on capabilities. The gearbox was well sorted to provide best performance out of the peaky power plant which also lacked top-end refinement.

  • Hero Honda Achiever

The Hero Honda Achiever is a 149.00 cc, sports tourer bike manufactured in India by Hero Honda. With a power of 13.4 BHP at 8000 rpm, the bike can go up to 110 km/h(68.5 mph). The Achiever production started in 2006.
The Achiever engine is the same 149.1 cc (bore x stroke==57.3 x 57.8 mm) Honda Unicorn engine with a minuscule difference in power. While at 8000 rpm the Unikorn claims 13.3 bhp (=9.9 kW), at the same (8000) rpm, Achiever claims 13.4 bhp (10 kW).
Production of the bike started in early 2006 but had stopped in the same year itself. Now Hero Honda has recently restarted the production of the model, with some graphic variations & also sporting a black alloy wheel.
